A few years ago my parents decided that they would gather up myself and my two sisters Authentic Byron Murphy Jersey , and take a road trip through Europe. Usually we end up on generic package holidays whenever they plan a holiday - and generally this is the case even if they have had the idea for something completely wacky and exciting! However, this time they were really passionate about what they wanted to do, and so they booked the time off work and planned the route.
We only had two weeks to go away in, so our roadtrip wasn't going to be a huge and epic travel around every European country. Instead, my parents decided to take us across France, into ot the ferry over to Calais about back from Portugal Authentic Kyler Murray Jersey , and the resulting route was practical, achievable, and above all intended to be fun. The idea was to pack up all we might need and spend a few days in each of our key locations, whilst also getting in lots of time on the road and plenty of unplanned stops and explorations.
Of course, to do a trip like this required more than planning - it needed a form of transport too. Our tiny and compact little hatchback simply wouldn't do - if you have three daughters you will probably know why. To fit the whole family, luggage and bikes in securely was a bit of a challenge for even the biggest cars, so my parents had to come up with an alternative plan. Although they did consider upgrading to a bigger car permanently Authentic Haason Reddick Jersey , they eventually decided to borrow a friend's used Dodge Journey. The main reason was that this car is big. It has boot space, a luggage container on the roof, and a bike rack on the door of the boot. On top of the practical storage bits and pieces it also had 7 seats, meaning that me and the siblings wouldn't all have to be crammed, tetchily, into one very small space.
What we actually did when we went on the trip was turn around one of the rows of seats. This is my favourite feature of the Dodge Journey, as it allowed us to chat to each other whilst facing each other - and the centre table was the perfect space for games of cards and for my sisters to draw on - which made the long drives pass by much faster indeed! I think that this probably prevented a big number of fights and battles between us kids Authentic Christian Kirk Jersey , and I am sure that my parents were incredibly grateful for this - as this was one of the main things they were worried about when planning this family roadtrip.
In the end, ensconced in our spacious car, the trip was a resounding success. The sights were gorgeous, the cities divine, and the freedom to explore whatever we wanted was really refreshing. Whilst the planning was difficult, I think that the end result was easily good enough to make the holiday worthwhile! I posted a story the other day on one of my blogs - the headline reads: "Antidepressant drugs quadruple risk of suicides, research shows".
Sigh
I mean Authentic Chandler Jones Jersey , c'mon. isn't the whole reason we take anti-depressant drugs centered around NOT wanting to give up, check out, commit suicide, stop living, etc.? So, we take a drug that makes us more bummed? To the point of suicide?
When are we going to stop running to a doctor every time we (or our children) have sniffle or pang to get that 'magic pill' that somehow ALWAYS manages to have a side effect worse than the original symptom??
Don't tell me about the marvels of modern medicine, I know about an awful lot of them. And Authentic Pat Tillman Jersey , in case you're getting the wrong idea, I have immense respect for scientists and researchers who have devoted lifetimes to try and find ways to overcome modern man's illnesses.
I have immense respect for most medical doctors and practitioners who have devoted their lives to trying to help and heal their fellow man.
However, the insurance companies, the pharmaceutical companies, the 'big business' of medicine - they can go away any day now. When the almighty dollar supercedes the importance of life, it's time to do something.
Also, why in the heck can't we learn to stop throwing the baby out with the bathwater??? With the advent of 'science' Hakeem Butler Jersey , all of a sudden everything our ancestors did and believed in the realm of healing was all of a sudden labeled 'superstition' and ineffective 'folk medicine.'
Isn't it funny that now we're realizing how right much of that folk medicine was. Mistletoe is being researched for its effect on Cancer - with astounding results. St John's Wort is now known to be a very effective anti-depressant (without making you want to kill yourself!), light - that's right, light - is being used to treat ulcers, infections, carpal tunnel syndrome, and a host of other ailments - successfully.
Therapeutic touch is being used in hospitals for surgery and heart patients, successfully. The power of prayer - dubbed ineffective by the so-called scientific experts for decades upon decades - has now been proven to have a measurable positive effect on the ill.
So Zach Allen Jersey , is the pendulum finally swinging back to center? I sure as heck hope so. But, more than that, I hope it doesn't completely swing in the opposite direction.
