The Minnesota Twins are reportedly set to name Paul Molitor as the teams new manager on Monday. According to a report on ESPNs Twin Cities affiliate, the team will unveil the Hall-of-Famer as its new manager at a Monday press conference. The Twins fired Ron Gardenhire at the end of the 2014 season, marking the end of his 13-year tenure as manager. Molitor, a Saint Paul, Minn.-native, has spent a large portion of his career with the organization since retiring from playing in 1998. He spent three seasons as Twins bench coach between 1999 and 2001 but left the organization in 2004 to serve as hitting coach with the Seattle Mariners. He was the Twins minor league base-running and infield coach between 2005 and 2013 before rejoining the Twins Major League staff to oversee those areas as well as bunting and positioning. A first-ballot Hall-of-Famer (2004), Molitor ranks ninth on the all-time hits list with 3,319. He spent 21 years in the majors including 15 with the Milwaukee Brewers. He signed with the Toronto Blue Jays for three years prior to the 1993 season, in which he won his only World Series Championship. He finished his career as a member of the Twins between 1996 and 1998 and there recorded his 3,000th hit. The Twins are searching for a manager for just the second time since 1986.
